Delete your account

You can erase your FinTidy account and everything stored against it at any time. There is no waiting period and no approval step. Here is how, whether or not you still have the app.

If you still have the app installed

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open FinTidy and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm when asked. The app signs you out as soon as the deletion finishes.

Stuck partway through setup?

The control is also in the overflow menu of the first-time setup wizard, so you can delete an account you never finished configuring, or one whose settings screen will not load.

If you no longer have the app

Email support@fintidy.app from the address you signed in with, and ask for your account to be deleted. Sending from the same address is what lets us confirm the request is yours, so please do not send it from a different mailbox.

Requests are actioned within 7 days. You will get a reply confirming it is done.

What gets erased

All of it. Specifically:

  • Every transaction you have recorded, income and expense alike
  • Every category, including the ones you created yourself
  • Every monthly summary built from those transactions
  • Your financial profile — currency, starting balance, monthly income and savings target
  • Your sign-in identity itself, so the email or Google account is no longer registered with FinTidy

This cannot be undone

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no archive, no recycle bin and no thirty-day grace period from which an account can be restored. If you want a record of your spending, take it before you delete.

What is kept afterwards

Nothing. FinTidy retains no copy of your account, your transactions or your profile once a deletion completes. Routine server logs, which contain no financial figures, age out on their own within 30 days.

Cancel your subscription as well

Deleting your account does not cancel your FinTidy subscription. Google holds that, not us, so it has to be cancelled in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Do both, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.

If that has already happened to you, write to support@fintidy.app and it will be put right.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Uninstalling FinTidy removes it from your phone but leaves your account and its data intact, so you can sign back in on a new device. Use one of the two routes above if you want the data gone as well.
