Last updated 20 September 2026

FinTidy is a personal finance app. It holds figures you type in yourself, and nothing more. This page explains exactly what those are, where they live, and how to get rid of them.

The short version

FinTidy has no connection to any bank. It shows no ads, contains no advertising or analytics SDK, and sells your data to nobody — the subscription is what pays for it. The only data it holds is what you enter, plus the email address you signed in with. Google handles the payment, so FinTidy never sees your card. You can delete all of it from inside the app, in one tap.

What FinTidy collects

Your sign-in details. When you create an account you provide an email address and a password, or you sign in with Google. If you use Google, FinTidy receives the email address and display name on that account.

The financial figures you enter. During setup you give a currency, the cash you currently hold, your monthly income and the amount you want to save each month. After that, each transaction you record stores an amount, a date, a category, and an optional note. FinTidy also keeps the per-month summaries it builds from those entries, and any spending categories you create.

Ordinary server records. The backend logs the fact that a request happened, along with a timestamp. These logs are used to keep the service running and to investigate faults. They contain no transaction amounts.

Your subscription status. FinTidy is a paid app, and it needs to know whether your subscription is active. That status comes from Google Play Billing. See the payments section below.

What FinTidy does not collect

  • Banking credentials of any kind. There is no bank or card integration in the product, so there is nothing to connect and no password of yours for anyone to lose.
  • Card or account numbers. Google takes the payment, not FinTidy. See below.
  • Your location, contacts, photos, calendar, or the other apps on your device.
  • Advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK. Nothing about your behaviour is measured or sent anywhere.

Where your data is stored

Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Your password is held by Google and is never seen or stored by FinTidy.

Everything else — your profile, transactions, categories and summaries — is stored in a private database running on Amazon Web Services, US East (N. Virginia), reachable only through the FinTidy API and only with a valid sign-in token belonging to your account.

Traffic between the app and the API is encrypted in transit.

Payments

FinTidy costs $4 per month. The subscription is sold and billed by Google through Google Play Billing.

This means your card number, billing address and payment history are held by Google under their privacy policy, and are never transmitted to or stored by FinTidy. What FinTidy receives is the answer to a single question: is this account’s subscription currently active.

Cancelling, changing a payment method, and requesting a refund are all done through the Play Store, because Google is the seller.

Who it is shared with

Nobody. FinTidy does not sell, rent, or trade your data, and does not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other users.

Two service providers necessarily process it on FinTidy’s behalf: Google, which runs the authentication and sells the subscription, and Amazon Web Services, which runs the database and API. Neither is permitted to use your financial entries for their own purposes.

Data may be disclosed if the law genuinely requires it, such as a valid court order.

How long it is kept

Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account it is erased immediately and permanently — there is no archived copy. Server logs age out within 30 days.

Your choices

  • See your data. Everything FinTidy holds about you is visible in the app.
  • Correct it. Any transaction, category or profile figure can be edited from the app.
  • Delete it. Settings, then Delete account. This removes every record and the sign-in identity behind it. Full instructions, including how to ask by email.

Children

FinTidy is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to support@fintidy.app and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

If what FinTidy collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
